The Next 10 Days
Saturday will be another day with sunny skies and cool temperatures. Morning temperatures are colder at the base (single digits) and warmer on the mountain (teens), and the afternoon high will be in the mid-20s. The summit will also have slightly stronger winds, gusting to 20-30 mph.
For new terrain, Saturday's open trail count jumped from 27 to 45 with Olympia Express and Looking Glass open in the morning, and Wild Spur Express and significant terrain in Vasquez Ridge likely opening in the afternoon.
Sunday will also be mostly sunny and dry, and the high temperature will be in the upper 20s.
Each day next week will be dry, mostly sunny, and a bit warmer with a high temperature in the low 30s, and the dry weather should last through the weekend of December 7-8.
Our next chances for snow will be around December 9-10 and again around December 13-14. While the storm track may not change significantly through mid-month, both of these storms may track close enough to Colorado to dust us with new snow.
The good news is that we have a solid base, the low sun angle of early December will help to preserve our snowpack, and more terrain should open over the coming days and weeks.
