Monday

Snow started to fall just before sunrise on Monday and the mid-mountain snow stake picked up 6 inches in about two hours!

The 6 inches on the snow stake is higher than I expected, and Winter Park was lucky in that the band of snow happened to form directly over the mountain (areas farther to the north saw less/little/no snow).

The 6 inches should ride nicely, especially on any runs that are groomed.

For the rest of the day, the steady snow will have moved south of the mountain and random snow showers will hang around with on-then-off snowfall. Dress warmly as temperatures will be around 10°F on the hill today.

Tuesday

There could be additional snow showers on Monday night into Tuesday morning, though snow totals will be minimal as the air will be cold with little moisture, and little moisture means little snow.

Other than the snow, weather conditions on Tuesday will be cold with a high in the single digits and mostly cloudy skies.

Wednesday & Thursday

Wednesday and Thursday will be partly cloudy with times of thin clouds filtering the sunshine, and temperatures will be warmer with daytime highs in the 20s.

Friday

Our next chance for snow will be on Thursday night into Friday morning and my early snow total estimate is in the 1-6 inch range. So, not a big storm, but maybe a nice little refresh on Friday morning.

Longer Range

The weather pattern through Christmas will not be favorable for significant storms, but there will be chances for some snow, likely around Sunday, December 15, and again around Wednesday, December 18. We have a solid base and the low sun angle of December will continue to preserve our snowpack, so we're in an okay spot for December, despite the likely lack of significant snowfall during the month, and hopefully we'll see a few refreshes between now and Christmas/Chanukkah.
