Wednesday

Wednesday will be dry and mostly sunny.

The morning temperature is chilly, around 0°F, and the high temperature will be in the teens.

Thursday

Thursday should bring light snow, especially in the morning, but the storm will only brush by Colorado and I expect just low-end accumulation. The wind direction during the midday and afternoon could be pretty favorable (from the north or north-northeast), so there is a chance for slightly higher snow totals, maybe in the 1-3 inch range. The temperature will be in the teens.

Friday

Friday should be dry and partly sunny with a high temperature in the teens.

Saturday

The next storm will bring snow from Friday night through Saturday evening.

On the downside, the storm will lack moisture and the temperature will be colder than the ideal number for big snowflakes to form.

On the upside, the storm will be pretty strong and last most of the day.

Our multi-model average forecast shows 2-5 inches, and I think this is reasonable. Saturday could get softer throughout the day, with snow lingering into Saturday evening.

Sunday

On Sunday, soft conditions and snow showers could persist and the temperature will stay in the single digits.

Monday & Tuesday

Monday and Tuesday should be dry and cold with high temperatures in the 10-15°F range.

Wednesday & Thursday

Wednesday and Thursday will be dry and warmer with high temperatures in the 20s.

Next Storm

Sometime between Friday, January 17, and Monday, January 20, a storm should bring more snow to Colorado. We will be on the edge of the storm track, and a slight deviation in the storm's track (from January 17-20) will mean the difference between little/no snow and potentially significant snow. Stay tuned.
