Wednesday Recap
Wednesday was a fun day of powder thanks to soft-on-soft conditions following 10 inches of storm total snowfall. And temperatures stayed cold, preserving the snow quality through about midday.
Storm #2
The second storm of the week will track from southwest to northeast across Colorado on Thursday.
The storm is compact yet strong, which leads me to have only moderate confidence in the forecast - I expect some upside and downside surprises.
My best estimate is that this storm track will deliver snow showers from Thursday afternoon through Thursday night with 3-6 inches of accumulation.
If this snowfall comes to fruition, there could be a bit of new snow for Thursday's last chair and, more likely, there could be some soft snow for Friday's first chair.
Storm #3
The third and final storm of the week will bring snow to Colorado from Friday midday through Saturday evening.
The storm will track far to the south of Colorado, which is not ideal for the snowfall in the northern mountains. But with storm energy wobbling around Colorado, once again, I only have moderate confidence in the forecast.
My best estimate is for another 3-6 inches of snow from Friday midday through Saturday morning, and there could be some new snow for Friday's last chair with the potential for soft conditions on Saturday morning as well.
Longer Range
All of the longer-range forecast models agree - it'll be a return to spring conditions from Sunday, April 6, through about Tuesday, April 15.
During this time, expect mostly sunny skies and warm high temperatures in the 40s.
The only chances for a bit of weather (clouds, flakes) will be around April 8 and again around April 15-16.
