More Snow On the Way Through Thursday

Summary

Snow showers continue in Zermatt on Monday and Monday night. Snow will pick up a bit on Tuesday before heavy snow arrives Tuesday night. Showers will then continue through Thursday.

Short Term Forecast

Monday - Thursday

A snowy week is ahead for Zermatt. Snow showers will bring 5 - 10 cms on Monday, followed by another 5 cms Monday night. Snow will become heavier on Tuesday, with 5 - 15 cms piling up during the day.

The heaviest snow will fall on Tuesday night, when 15 - 30 cms are expected. Another 5 - 10 cms are expected during the day on Wednesday as well. More scattered snow showers are possible on Wednesday night and Thursday.

Snow levels will be rising during this time, reaching 1200 m on Monday, 1500 m on Tuesday, and 1800 m on Wednesday.

Extended Forecast

In the long-range, additional opportunities for snow will be possible. There isn’t an obvious signal for a strong storm, but overall the storm track will stay active over Western Europe. With no signs of a ridge setting up, there is hope that this active and snowy pattern will continue.
