Weaklings...

Summary

Increasing clouds and wind today with mountain top gusts to 40+ mph. Temperatures remain cold with highs in the 30's on the mountains to low 40's at lake level. We may see some light snow showers move in by late afternoon but most of the snowfall is expected this evening and overnight. We could see 1-3 inches at lake level, and 3-5 inches on the mountains by Monday morning. We could have a few lingering snow showers Monday morning but we begin to clear out. Highs stay cold similar to Sunday. Then high pressure builds off the coast bringing lots of sun and milder temperatures Tuesday and Wednesday. We could see highs in the 40's on the mountains to 50's at lake level. Wednesday night into Thursday a cold trough tries to push down from the North. Depending on how far West it digs we could see colder air and some snow into Thursday. Only expecting a few inches at best on the mountains as snow levels start above 8000 feet and fall to lake level Thursday. Temperatures may dip back into the 30's on the mountains and 40's at lake level for Thursday and Friday. High pressure brings a return sun and milder weather to start next week. Some models keep that going into the week of the 3rd, while other try to dig another cold trough down from the North next Sunday.
