Leap Year Saturday

Update

At 8am Saturday morning no new snow has fallen overnight with cloudy overcast skies over Lone Mountain and a temperature of 27 degrees in the village. For today expect cloudy skies through the morning with snow showers developing in the early afternoon with maybe an inch possible by last chair with a high temperature of 32 degrees at 8000’. Moderate SW winds of 15-20mph with gusts up to 25mph will be present today on the ridge tops and alpine areas.

Light snow continues tonight that may bring an additional 1-2” through the overnight hours. Sunday will be considerably colder with brisk North winds of 10-12mph with mostly cloudy skies and a high of 19 degrees (8000’). The sun returns Monday with highs in the mid 20’s. The system I was watching for Tuesday is fizzling out so expect a mix of clouds, flurries and even a sunny spell on Tuesday with a high around 30. Snow showers will be in the forecast Wednesday before sunny, warm and dry conditions finish the week.
