Windy and Warm Sunday

Summary

A High Wind Warning is in effect until 5pm today for sustained winds of 30-40mph with gusts to 55mph for the area. Flurries will accompany the winds with a trace to an inch possible through the day. Next storm is still on for Tuesday.

Update

Today:

At 7:00AM it’s 33 degrees in the Village and 25 degrees at the top of Andesite Mountain (at 8800’). Skies are currently cloudy with snow flurries flying across both Lone and Andesite Mountains.

NWS has issued a High Wind Warning for the area for strong SW winds of 30-40mph with gusts to 55 mph. Clouds and snow flurries (blowing) will be around through most of the day today with a trace to an inch possible. Mid-mountain high temperatures will rise to around 28 degrees at 8500’.

Extended Forecast:

Monday looks to be quite warm with SW winds decreasing but still in the 20mph range. Clouds will clear out by noon for a mostly sunny afternoon. High temps at 8500’ will approach 32 degrees on this first day of Winter! Next storm system approaches late Monday night that looks to bring moderate snow amounts (3-6”) to the mountain on Tuesday into Tuesday night. High-pressure is quick to build on Wednesday and looks to bring sunny skies daily into Christmas Day and the weekend beyond.
