Chilly and Sunny Sunday

Summary

A cold and crisp morning with clear skies will transition to a mostly sunny day with slightly below average daytime temperatures. Although skies will remain dry through Wednesday afternoon, a moist Southwest (SW) flow will bring chances of daily light snow amounts (1-2”) Thursday through next weekend. Daytime high temps will be returning to the low to mid 20’s (9000’) as well.

Update

Today:

At 7:00AM it’s -0- degrees in the Village and 8 degrees at the top of Andesite Mountain (at 8800’). No new snow was reported in the last 24-hours, with 2” new in the last 48-hours. Skies are currently mostly clear with a few high clouds over Lone and Andesite Mountains. Light South/SE winds at the top of Andesite are currently blowing at 5mph with a recent gust to 9 mph.

Today expect a cold and clear morning with light South/SW winds to 10 mph. For the rest of the day, mostly sunny skies will reign across the region with high temperatures across mid to upper mountain locations (9000’) will be around 17 degrees. Afternoon SW winds will be at 10-15 mph.

Extended Forecast:

Mostly sunny skies return for Monday with daytime high of around 15 degrees at 9000’. Look for a continued dry forecast of partly sunny skies for Tuesday and Wednesday with continued cold daytime high temps (9000’) of 14-16 degrees. By Wednesday afternoon increasing clouds on a SW flow will work into SW Montana and being chances of light snow overnight Wednesday and into the day on Thursday. Weather models are indicating a persistent flow of moisture on this SW flow that will bring chances of snow into the weekend as well. Finally, looks like a pattern change. Stay tuned.
