Sunny and Cold/Snow Returns Mid-Week
Summary
Similar to Sunday, Monday will bring the deep chill with single digit temps up until around noon when the sun starts warming the mountain and gradually warms into the mid-teens to around 20 through the afternoon hours. After a few more dry days, light snow returns Wednesday afternoon and looks to stay through the weekend with light daily accumulations.
Update
Today:
At 7:00AM it’s -0- degrees in the Village and 3 degrees at the top of Andesite Mountain (at 8800’). No new snow was reported in the last 24-hours. Skies are currently mostly clear with a few whisps of high clouds over Lone and Andesite Mountains. Light East/NE winds at the top of Andesite are currently blowing at 6mph.
Another cold and crisp morning at Big Sky will pave the way for a mostly sunny day with high temperatures across mid to upper mountain locations (9000’) around 15 degrees. South/SW winds will be at 5-10 mph.
Extended Forecast:
Look for a continued dry forecast of partly sunny skies for Tuesday and Wednesday morning with continued cold daytime high temps (9000’) of 14-16 degrees. By Wednesday afternoon increasing clouds on a SW flow will work into SW Montana and bring chances of afternoon flurries. Flurries continue off and on overnight Wednesday and into the day on Thursday with maybe an inch or two. Weather models are indicating a persistent flow of moisture with this SW flow that will bring chances of an inch or two each day through the weekend as well.
