Light Snow and Warmer
Summary
The storm that’s brewing just to our south is sharing a few fringe effects of snow showers this morning with a fresh inch on the snow stakes already. Look for another inch before clearing out around noon. That said, we’re so close and surprises can happen in weather. Snow returns Friday afternoon through Saturday and should bring another 2-4” to Big Sky.

Today:
At 7:00AM it’s 18 degrees in the Village and 15 degrees at the top of Andesite Mountain (at 8800’). 1 inch of new snow fell overnight. Currently the skies are cloudy with light snow falling over Lone and Andesite Mountains. East winds at the top of Andesite are currently blowing at 6mph with a recent gust to 10 mph.
Today expect a mild morning with snow showers with an additional inch falling by noon. After the snow showers clear out the rest of the day looks to be mostly cloudy with gusty south winds in the alpine areas. Temperatures across mid to upper mountain locations (9000’) will be warmer with a high around 24 degrees. South winds will be at 15-20 mph with gusts to 40 mph up on the ridgetops.
Extended Forecast:
Friday starts off cloudy with light snow expected to develop around noon and continue through Friday night with storm totals of 1-3” possible into Saturday morning. Saturday will see snow showers continue with another few inches likely into the early afternoon hours before clearing out. Daytime temps will continue to be above average. Sunday and Monday look to be dry with chances of snow returning next Tuesday.
