Southwest Flow Bringing the Snow

Summary

Light snow has already started and should stay steady through most of the day Friday. Temps this morning are almost tropical with 25 degrees already at the top of Andesite. Look for another 1-4” through last chair. Snow continues Friday night with another 1-3” likely. Saturday and Sunday look to be a mix of sun and clouds before the storm track returns Tuesday through Friday next week.

Today:  

At 7:00AM it’s 32 degrees in the Village and 25 degrees at the top of Andesite Mountain (at 8800’). 1 inch of new snow fell overnight. Currently the skies are cloudy with light snow falling over Lone and Andesite Mountains. South winds at the top of Andesite are currently blowing at 12mph with a recent gust to 26 mph.  

Today expect a mild and breezy day with light snow continuing through the day with an additional 1-4 inches. Actually, there could be slightly higher accumulations as the snow has started much earlier than forecasted. Temperatures across mid to upper mountain locations (9000’) will be warmer with a high around 26 degrees. South winds will be at 10-15 mph with gusts to 30 mph up on the ridgetops.  

Extended Forecast:

Look for the snow to continue through Friday night with an additional 1-3” possible into Saturday morning. Saturday will see snow showers clear out gradually with even some sunny breaks possible during the afternoon. Daytime temps will be a few degrees cooler at 21 degrees (@ 9000’). Sunday and Monday look to be dry with chances of snow returning next Tuesday through Friday.
