A Little Friday Refreshment

Summary

2 inches overnight brings our 2-day storm total to 7 inches. Instability behind the departing storm will bring clouds and a few flurries Friday afternoon. High-pressure builds Saturday morning and looks to bring a mostly sunny and warm spring weekend. A windy storm system is on track for Monday with 3 to 6 inches possible along with gusty winds.

Today:   

At 7:00AM it’s 20 degrees in the Village and 15 degrees at the 8800’ level of Andesite Mountain. 4 inches of new snow fell in the past 24-hours, 2 inches of that falling overnight. Currently the skies are cloudy over Lone and Andesite mountains. Current winds at the top of Andesite are blowing from the NW at 2 mph with a recent gust to 8 mph.

Today expect cloudy skies with a chance of snow showers during the late afternoon hours. Winds will be blowing out of the W/NW at 8 to 14 mph with gusts to 20 mph on the ridgetops. High temperatures across the upper mountain locations (at 9000’) will be around 25 degrees.  

Extended Forecast:

A return to more traditional spring weather with mostly sunny skies and above average temperatures are in store for Saturday and Sunday. Sunday looks to be quite windy with upper mountain west winds around 20 to 25 mph with gusts to 35 mph. An extremely windy Pacific storm system rolls in on Monday bringing chances of 3 to 6 inches through Tuesday along with extreme SW winds gusting up to 50 mph on the ridgetops. Also, much colder temps with highs at 9000’ on Tuesday of around 18 degrees. High-pressure builds in Wednesday and temps rebound quickly back to seasonal springlike averages (30 degree high at 9K’). Thursday, sunny skies and slightly warmer daytime temperatures.
