Snow on the Way
Summary
Our next storm, a cold front working with moisture from a cutoff low to our south will bring heavy snow Monday afternoon along with drastically dropping temperatures. Up to 5 inches could fall this afternoon with another 1 to 3 inches tonight. The storm moves out Tuesday for a mostly cloudy day. Sunny skies Wednesday will transition to snowy skies Thursday afternoon with a few more inches likely.

Today:
At 7:00AM it’s 35 degrees in the Village and 31 degrees at the 8800’ level of Andesite Mountain. No new snow fell in the last 24-hours. Currently the skies are overcast over Lone and Andesite mountains. Current winds at the top of Andesite are blowing from the E/SE at 4 mph with a recent gust to 9 mph.
Today, clouds with snow developing during the late morning hours and continuing through the afternoon. During the afternoon snow will become heavy at times with accumulations of 3 to 5 inches. High temperatures across the upper mountain locations (at 9000’) will be around 32 this morning dropping to around 22 this afternoon when the cold front passes. Winds will be blowing from the S/SE around 5 - 10 mph with gusts to 15 mph across the ridgetops.
Extended Forecast:
Overnight Monday, snow will continue with another 1 to 3 inches. Tuesday will see some morning snow showers with a trace to an inch, otherwise partial clearing with mostly cloudy skies. High temperatures Tuesday will be in the low 30’s. High-pressure returns Wednesday before another storm moves through Thursday afternoon and evening with chances of a few inches. Friday into the weekend, a mix of clouds, flurries and sunny breaks.
