Head north and stay high if you want powder this week!

Summary

Winter is playing games for January, with warm temps impacting all of the western resorts in the next 5-7 days. Colder air is going to linger in BC where several waves of moderate snow will be falling through early next week. Very cold air is trapped north and east of most ski areas. Areas that will benefit this week will be higher elevations such as the peaks of Targhee and Jackson, Steamboat summit, Montana summits north of Bozeman and Rocky Mountain National Park closest to the Fort Collins. Slightly colder air moves into most of the Rockies next week with an uptick of precipitation likely. Utah may get into the game next week as well as most of north/central Colorado.
