Heads up, there may be fresher snow! Read the latest Copper Mountain Daily Snow

Update

On Friday we saw a mostly sunny day with highs in the 20s.

On Saturday, Sunday, and Monday we’ll continue to see dry weather with high temperatures generally in the 30s. The sunniest day will likely be Saturday with more high, thin clouds filtering the sunshine on Sunday and Monday.

I still expect a chance for some snow from later on Tuesday through Wednesday midday. The storm will be coming from the southwest and this is generally not a favorable direction for significant snow in Colorado’s northern mountains. I’ll stick with my 1-4 inch forecast. Odds favor the low side of this range, though if a few intense cells track over the mountain, maybe we will wind up with a few more inches. The timing of the snow means that we could see flakes on Christmas Eve night and Christmas morning.

Looking ahead toward the final five days of December and into early January, I have low confidence in the forecast and the latest models show a trend toward drier weather. This is all 5-15 days into the future where forecast accuracy is low, so we’ll cross our fingers that the atmosphere will be in a giving mood and send snow to Colorado.

Thanks for reading and check back each morning for daily updates!
