Copper Mountain Daily Snow

Heads up, there may be fresher snow! Read the latest Copper Mountain Daily Snow

Update

Monday was another partly-to-mostly cloudy day with clouds filtering the sunshine and afternoon high temperatures in the 30s to low 40s.

On Tuesday, again expect dry weather with mostly cloudy skies. As the next storm moves closer, temperatures will be a few degrees cooler with highs in the low 30s.

Tuesday night through Wednesday will be our best chance for snow. The storm will bring lots of moisture, which is a necessary ingredient for snow, but the wind direction from the south and southwest is not favorable for significant snow.

We’ll likely see a dusting to an inch or two on Tuesday night as an initial wave of snow pushes through, and then we could see another dusting to an inch or two on Wednesday as snow showers continue.

Total accumulations will likely be 1-4 inches and they could go a bit higher if we get lucky. This amount of new snow will not create a deep powder day on Wednesday but it could help to soften the slopes a bit.

From Thursday through early next week, the weather should be mostly dry and cooler with daytime high temperatures in the 20s.

Our next chance for some snow should be around New Years. The current models show this as a weak system with low snowfall amounts.

After that, some weather forecast models insist that we’ll enter a stormier period after about January 5th. This is too far into the future for us to have any confidence and I only mention it to keep our powder dreams alive:-).
