Update

Merry Christmas morning!

Following a mostly sunny afternoon on Tuesday, a southern storm pushed a brief wave of snow over the mountain on Tuesday night and the snow stake camera shows a dusting to an inch of accumulation.

For Wednesday, expect a mix of all types of weather with times of snow showers, times of dry skies, and maybe a break of sunshine as well. If a band of snow hits we could see maybe an inch of accumulation, but odds are for less than that.

Looking ahead, Thursday and most of Friday should be dry with high temperatures around 20°F.

On Friday night and Saturday morning, another southern storm may creep far enough north to bring light snow. At this point, I expect little or just light accumulations, but if the storm continues to move farther north, perhaps the atmosphere will deliver a bit more snow.

From Saturday through Tuesday we’ll see a mix of some sun, some snow showers, and chilly temperatures with highs in the teens.

Our next chance for meaningful snow should occur between about Tuesday night and Thursday (December 31 – January 2) as one or a series of storms moves across Colorado from the northwest. This is a favorable storm track for us to see snow, though it’s too soon to know if these will be just weak systems or if we’ll have a chance for significant accumulations.

Thanks for reading and check back each morning for daily updates!
