Update

Saturday’s weather was a surprise. I thought we’d see a mix of sun and clouds with perhaps a few flurries. Instead, we saw snow showers for most of the day with about 2 inches accumulating on the mid-mountain snow stake. I hate surprises but we’ll take the flakes!

Sunday should be dry and we’ll be right on the edge of low clouds hanging over the far northern mountains and sunny weather for the rest of Colorado. I think the sunshine will win out on Sunday with a high temperature in the mid-20s.

Monday should be sunny in the morning with high, thin clouds filtering the sunshine during the afternoon. The high temperature on Monday should be in the low-to-mid 30s.

The next storm could arrive a little earlier than I previously expected with snow starting on Tuesday, and the snow may linger a little later than I previously expected, continuing through Thursday night or even Friday. This storm will not be strong, but it’ll have plenty of moisture and a multi-day duration, which could yield moderate snow totals. I’ll stick with the 4-8 inch range for now, and snow conditions should soften and become progressively more fun each day from late Tuesday through maybe Friday morning.

After this storm, we should see dry weather from about Friday, January 24th through about Monday, January 27th.

Then the next storm could bring snow sometime between about Tuesday, January 28th through about Thursday, January 30th. This storm could track over Colorado or it could stay too far to the south and bring little or no snow. It’s still 10+ days away so we’ll keep an eye on it but the details are too uncertain to worry about at this point.

Thanks for reading and check back each morning for daily updates!
