Tuesday storm & powder

Summary

Snow arrived early on Tuesday morning and conditions will get deeper and softer throughout the day.

Update

About 1 inch of snow fell on Monday night and by about Tuesday at 500am.

Then between Tuesday at 500am to 730am, about 3 inches have accumulated at mid-mountain.

This means that the first turns on Tuesday morning will be powdery but we will need more snow to cover the hard base in places.

For the rest of Tuesday, expect intense snow in the morning with more showery snow during the afternoon. We should see at least another 3-6 inches on top of the 3 inches that are already on the stake.

From Tuesday night through Friday, there will be additional snow showers. I think the best chance for another solid chunk of snow accumulation will be on Wednesday afternoon into Wednesday evening, so watch the snow stakes during this time to see if we can eke out 2-5 inches and another soft and powdery day on Thursday. Overall, both Wednesday and Thursday will feel more like winter than spring with chilly temperatures in the teens most of the time, some gusty winds, and soft-ish conditions (I'm not sure if we'll get quite enough snow to fully cover the crusty base everywhere on the mountain...we'll see).

Saturday should be dry and warm with temperatures in the upper 30s and a gusty wind during the afternoon. Then on Saturday night, a fast-moving storm to the north could bring a little bit of snow and slightly cooler temperatures by Sunday morning.

Thanks for reading and please check back each morning for daily updates!
