Copper Mountain Daily Snow
By Joel Gratz, Founding Meteorologist Posted 1 month ago November 21, 2024
Warm through Saturday, then stormy from late Sunday through next week
Summary
The weather will be dry and warm on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, then multiple storms could deliver significant snow during Thanksgiving week.
Update
Wednesday
Wednesday was sunny and warmer than Tuesday with a high temperature in the mid-20s.
Thursday
Thursday will be another mostly sunny day and the high temperature will be even warmer, rising into the 30s. It's early season so remember that terrain is still limited across the mountain, but snow coverage is looking pretty solid for this time of the year.
Friday
Temperatures will again rise into the 30s, and high-elevation clouds will likely filter the sunshine during the day.
Saturday
Temperatures will stay warm with a high in the 30s, and skies will again be partly to mostly cloudy. Winds could be faster/gusty on Saturday afternoon.
Sunday through Thanksgiving Week
While most of Sunday should be dry, we'll see increasing clouds, slightly cooler temperatures, and maybe snow showers later in the day.
Then the first round of snow should fall on Sunday night with at least a few inches of powder possible by Monday morning.
The second round of snow could deliver more significant accumulations between Monday night and Wednesday. I still have low confidence in the details of the snow amount and timing, but it's becoming increasingly likely that there will be significant snow in Colorado during the middle of the week, so the potential is increasing for pre-Thanksgiving powder and additional terrain to open.
Later during Thanksgiving week and into the weekend of November 30 - December 1, there could be yet another storm, but my confidence in that forecast is low, so we'll wait to figure out the details for at least another few days.
My next update will be on Friday morning.
