Saturday
Saturday's first chair will offer 2-3 inches of new snow which fell on Friday night.
Saturday's weather should be dry during the morning, and then the next storm will bring snow starting during the afternoon. The high temperature will be in the low 20s.
Saturday Night
On Saturday night, the next storm should deliver 2-4+ inches of snow.
The positive factor is that this storm will have a lot of moisture, and the negative factor is that the temperature will warm during the storm. In situations like this in the past, I have seen the models forecast too much snow, and I've also seen the models forecast the correct amount of snow.
So I am hopeful that Sunday morning will offer more fresh snow, but keep expectations on the lower end and hope for something better.
Sunday
If we see decent snowfall on Saturday night, then there will be powder to enjoy on Sunday morning.
Otherwise, Sunday's weather will be dry, mostly sunny, and warmer with a high temperature in the low 30s.
Sunday Night & Monday
The next storm should drop 4-8+ inches of snow from late Sunday night through Monday midday. The storm will also bring fast wind speeds on Sunday night and Monday morning, and this could affect the snow quality of Monday morning's powder. Since the snow should continue through Monday afternoon, conditions could get better/softer/deeper throughout the day.
Longer Range
Tuesday through Friday should be dry with high temperatures warming from the teens early in the week into the 20s during the end of the week. There could be snow showers on Thursday, January 2, though at this point, I think accumulations will be low.
Farther ahead, the period from January 4-7 looks interesting as the storm track may drop from the north into Colorado and bring multiple days of snow. Stay tuned.
