Thursday Recap
Thursday was partly cloudy and warm, with a high temperature in the 30s.
Friday (Mar 14)
On Friday morning, there was little to no new snow as of the 500 am snow report.
Then, at around 500 am, snow began to fall, and there should be 2-3 inches of accumulation by the time of first chair.
During the rest of Friday, there should be another 3-6 inches of accumulation, and the snow quality should become softer during the day.
On Friday night, there should be a lull in the snow with just a few lingering snow showers and little or light additional accumulation.
Saturday (Mar 15)
Saturday morning's conditions will likely be soft due to the snow that fell on Friday and perhaps some light additional accumulation on Friday night.
There should be a break in the snowfall on Saturday morning. Then another round of snow will track across Colorado starting around Saturday midday, so there could be a few inches of new powder by Saturday's last chair.
Sunday (Mar 16)
Sunday morning could be powdery due to an additional 3-6+ inches of snow that should fall from Saturday afternoon through Sunday morning.
I think Sunday morning's first chair will be pretty enjoyable with a soft base, untouched snow on top, and clouds dissipating.
Enjoy the snow early on Sunday because the mid-March sunshine and warming temperatures will likely impact the snow quality on east-facing and south-facing slopes by mid-morning.
On Sunday, midday and afternoon, the weather should transition to be mostly sunny with a high temperature of around 30°F.
Next Week
Monday (March 17) will be dry and warm, with a high temperature in the upper 30s.
Tuesday (March 18) will start with dry weather, then snow should fall from Tuesday midday/afternoon through Wednesday morning (March 19). Wednesday morning should offer powder due to the snow from Tuesday night.
In the longer range, there could be a weaker storm around Friday, March 21, a potentially stronger storm around Sunday to Monday, March 23-24, and perhaps another storm between March 29-31.
