Update

Spring skiing is here! The temperature at mid-mountain is right around freezing this morning, so the snow surface should start out firm, and then soften by mid-morning. Readings will rise into the upper 40s at mid-mountain and the low 40s at the summit by early afternoon.

This cycle, with firm snow in the morning and soft snow by midday, will repeat itself each day through about next Tuesday. We will likely see more high clouds filtering the sunshine after today, and temperatures will continue to be warm.

Our next chance for snow will be on March 22-23 when a storm is finally able to weaken the ridge of high pressure. Another storm should hit around March 27-28, and the longer-range models continue to show a continuation of storminess every few days through early April.

Enjoy the sun now, and then prepare for more powder:-)
