Update

It's going to be a snowy Saturday. The snow report shows 1 inch of new snow from before 5 am on Saturday, and we should see another 3-6 inches on Saturday, mostly during the afternoon.

Then we should get a time of intense snow sometime between about 5 pm and 9 pm on Saturday, and along with strong winds, this snow might force I-70 to close. Keep your eye on CDOT for the latest from a driving standpoint.

From a skiing standpoint, this snow is great news as you should find the best powder on Saturday afternoon and also on Sunday morning's first chair. Total snowfall should be in the 5-10 inch range, and this storm could over produce, so keep your eye on the snow stake camera especially on Saturday evening.

Sunday will be dry, then the next storm will arrive on Sunday night and bring snow through Monday evening. Yes, it'll be snowing on Christmas, and total accumulations should again be in the 4-8 inch range. Plan on powder on Monday and perhaps some leftover freshies on Tuesday morning as well.

Tuesday should be dry, then I do not know what will happen. We could see additional light to moderate storms through New Years, or these storms might stay just a bit to our north. I'll keep you posted.
