Europe Daily Snow

Is it still snowing? Yes, Yes it is.
Summary
A few resorts remain open, and at least a few more rounds of rain and high-elevation snow are expected this week. Accumulations will be confined to upper elevations, but there will be additional opportunities for some soft turns. The models keep the active pattern going in the long range as well.
Short Term Forecast
The season is certainly winding down in the Alps with only a handful of resorts still open, including Zermatt, Molltaler Glacier, Kitzsteinhorn, Hintertux, Kaunertal Glacier, and Les 2 Alpes, all with limited terrain. I'm not expecting any significant accumulations this week, but we could see up to 20 cm by the end of the week.
A weak storm will impact the southern/western Alps during the early part of the week before another weak storm drops in from the north, impacting the northern side of the eastern Alps later in the week. Below is the latest snow forecast through Sunday from the European model.
Snow levels will be on the higher side, especially early in the week, in the 2100 to 2400 m. The late-week storm is quite a bit colder, with a northern air mass moving in that should lower snow levels to around 1500 to 1800 m in the eastern Alps.
Extended Forecast
There are still no signs of this active pattern ending, with the long-range models showing additional storms in the one- to two-week timeframe. We might start to quiet down toward the end of the month, but the signal isn't strong at the moment.
My next post will be on Friday or Saturday.
Thanks for reading the Europe Daily Snow!

NEW: Forecast Range Graphs
You can now view individual forecasts from global and regional high-resolution weather models in OpenSnow. This includes forecasts from the GFS, ECMWF, HRRR, and ICON models, as well as the OpenSnow blend.
The graphs give you a behind-the-scenes look at the forecast and make it easier to see if the forecast models are in tight agreement or if there is a wide range of potential outcomes over the next 10 days.
Note: This is currently only available in the OpenSnow iOS app and website (OpenSnow.com). Android will be available soon.
Getting Started
- Go to any location screen.
- Scroll down under "Weather" or "Snow Summary".
- Tap "View Interactive Chart" in the app.
- Adjust the model, timeframe, or data view.
Why is the Forecast Range helpful?
Understand if there is high or low confidence in the forecast. If all models show a similar forecast, there is higher confidence in the forecast, and vice versa.
Dig into the details. If you have experience looking at weather model data and trust certain models or higher-resolution models, you'll be able to isolate your favorite data.
