Wednesday

We received 4-8 inches for Wednesday morning's snow reports, which is right in line with the final forecast of 4-8 inches that we talked about in Tuesday morning's update.

  • Beaver Creek: 8"
  • Winter Park: 7"
  • A-Basin: 6"
  • Loveland: 6"
  • Vail: 6"
  • Breckenridge: 4"
  • Copper: 4"
  • Keystone: 4"

We'll now continue to receive light snow showers through Wednesday afternoon ahead of clearing skies through Wednesday night. Temps will start in the teens and not move much throughout the day.

Thursday

Beautiful weather will prevail for Thursday, with sunny skies and temps climbing back into the 30s. Clouds will increase through Thursday afternoon and signal the storm for Friday. The best conditions will likely be found in the late morning when the overnight crunch softens.

Friday

A weak storm will slide into Colorado from late Thursday night through Friday night and deliver anywhere from a dusting to 1-3 inches. This could soften up conditions by midday Friday but the high April sun angle will quickly turn any fresh snow into mashed potatoes.

Saturday

This will be another in-between day. Expect sunny skies and temps in the 30s to low 40s. Like Thursday, the best conditions will likely be found in the late morning when the overnight crunch softens.

Sunday & Beyond

A good-looking cycle will quickly make its presence felt on Sunday and we should receive multiple waves of fresh snow through Wednesday, April 6. We'll continue to dial in the details but as of now, expect heavy snow on Sunday night and again around Tuesday, April 5.

Travel Forecast

Wet, icy, and slushy road surfaces will continue through Wednesday evening. Travel should cruise along at normal speeds from Wednesday morning through Wednesday afternoon.

Dry road surfaces and normal travel speeds return on Thursday.

Wet, icy, and slushy road surfaces will form on Friday morning and continue through Friday night. Travel should continue to cruise along at normal speeds.

Dry road surfaces and normal travel speeds return on Saturday.

Wet, icy, and slushy road surfaces return on Sunday and remain in place through the middle of next week.

NOTE: The higher sun angle will quickly clear icy and snowy road surfaces during the daylight hours as we head further into spring. Heavy snowfall rates during the daylight hours can still overcome this higher sun angle so always remember to slow down when slick road surfaces form.

Thanks for reading! Next update on Thursday (3/31).

SAM COLLENTINE

P.S. I'll be traveling out of the country on my honeymoon through Sunday, April 17 so apologies for shorter and less frequent updates during this time. Thanks for your understanding!
