Storm comes to N. Idaho resorts on Friday; sunshine in S. Idaho then snow this weekend

Summary

Snow quantities are increasing under forecasts for storm totals this weekend, as 11-15 inches of new snow are forecast at Schweitzer Mountain, 7-14 inches at Lookout and smaller amounts at Silver Mountain during the Friday/Saturday storm event. Breezy conditions and colder temperatures are expected to come with the storm event. S. Idaho resorts will have one more day of sunshine on Friday, and then the storm system arrives Saturday morning, with snow levels at 5,500 feet. Six to 9 inches of new snow are forecast at Brundage, Tamarack, Bogus Basin and Sun Valley through Sunday, while Pomerelle and Pebble Creek could get more than a foot, with a max of 15-17 inches possible. Skies will clear in N. Idaho by Sunday for several days of bluebird skiing and warmer temps, while the storm system will linger in S. Idaho, bringing a chance of snow each day through next week.
