Full Forecast Posted Wednesday Evening

Summary

With the timing of this system, I will be posting the full forecast on Wednesday evening around 5 pm CDT to give the best forecast for those hitting the slopes Thursday & Friday.

Wednesday will be mild, spring-like, with highs in the 30s and 40s!

A few notes on the latest trends:

  • The forecast for heaviest snow is trending southeast
  • A very narrow band of moderate to heavy snow is still expected (3-8")
    • A few areas may pick up over 8" as there will be periods of 1-2" per hour snow rates
  • Snow quality will range from wet/heavy to medium density

Here is a look at several of the ECMWF forecasts for snow between Wednesday night into Thursday night (loop shows oldest forecast to newest). These trends favor a line from Sundown up to Cascade to Boyne Highlands/Nub's Nob for the axis of heaviest snow.
