Summary

The California and Utah resorts will be the focus through the final days of November and into early December. Mammoth and Squaw Alpine will receive 5-7 FEET through Sunday, December 1st, while Alta and Snowbird receive upwards of 3 FEET through Saturday, November 30th.

Short Term Forecast

Welcome to the 2019-2020 season!

After a quiet start to November for most locations, November will not go quietly into the night! We are tracking multiple rounds of snow through the weekend of November 30th and December 1st.

Mammoth and Squaw Valley received 18 inches for the report on Wednesday, November 27th and they're just getting started. An additional 4-16 inches will fall by Thursday, November 28th. This will do wonders for building the base and opening additional terrain at each resort.

Moving east, it will be all eyes on Alta and Snowbird as a slow-moving system delivers very heavy snow on Wednesday, Thursday, and into Friday, November 29th. Totals will likely approach 3 FEET during this time and after proper mitigation work, there should be a lot of new terrain to open after the opening days on Friday, November 29th.

Jackson Hole and Taos should also do well during this late November cycle. Keep an eye on the Jackson Hole Daily Snow and the New Mexico Daily Snow for the latest updates.

Looking ahead to the weekend following Thanksgiving, another very healthy wave will push into California and deliver upwards of 2-4 FEET at Squaw Valley and Mammoth. The skiing during the first week of December should be phenomenal so take note if you're searching for great turns.

Extended Forecast

The storm track will remain relatively active through the first half of December for the western United States. The details are murky but additional storms will help open additional terrain as we enter prime "chase season", that is late-December, January, and February.

As always, stay tuned to the 1-10 day forecasts for all of the Mountain Collective destinations and our team of local forecasters for the latest updates.
