More mixed precipitation ahead
Summary
Calm conditions today give way to a blast of mixed precipitation on Tuesday. Snow will begin falling overnight and quickly accumulate before transitioning to rain during the morning hours. By the early afternoon, colder air will spill in from the north and change precipitation type back to snow once again. High pressure returns on Wednesday, followed by a round of brief mountain snow showers on Thursday. The next major storm system arrives by next weekend, bringing a mix of rain and snow to New England.
