Soft serve Saturday, powder alert for Taos ridge!

Summary

The Thursday-Friday storm cycle delivered 5 to 14" of denser quality snow across the central and northern mountains. Saturday will offer soft conditions at most mountains, with some untracked, wind-loaded stashes to sniff out. Extreme winds Friday kept Taos' high terrain closed teeing up Saturday and Sunday for high-end powder on any terrain that opens. Saturday will start in single digits and teens and warm up a bit to the 20's with partly cloudy skies. Sunday through Tuesday will be dry and partly cloudy in the high 20's and 30's. The next chance of snow will be around Wednesday-Thursday, January 22-23 (low to mid-end totals), and again around January 28-30 (low confidence).
