New Zealand Daily Snow

Sunshine for the Rest of the Week
Summary
Kiwi ski resorts will continue to enjoy fantastic, clear and settled weather for the rest of the week as high pressure continues to dominate. Our next decent snowstorm is still a long way off, with potential late next week as a storm system in the Tasman Sea finally looks to shake things up.
Short Term Forecast
Current Conditions
New Zealand has been basking under beautiful clear skies the last several days while high pressure has slowly drifted onto the country. It's been perfect for all the kids on school holidays, especially in the Southern Lakes, where that big snowstorm dropped up to half a metre of powder last week. The snow machines have also had a good run, so the snowpack is getting nice and deep on the groomed runs while there are still plenty of hazards off-piste.
Forecast for the rest of the week (Wednesday 10th to Sunday 14th July)
The great weather will last the rest of the week, with clear, sunny skies for all Kiwi ski fields. Winds will also be light over the South Island until this weekend, when north-easterlies strengthen as the high drifts away into the Pacific Ocean, making room for a storm system slowly approaching from the Tasman Sea. Nighttime temperatures are expected to fall below freezing most nights, so the snow machines will continue to see action.
Extended Forecast
Our next best chance for decent snowfall looks to be from late next week, when that storm system in the Tasman Sea finally crosses the country, potentially bringing cooler, livelier weather. This is still a llong way off, however, and models are all over the show, so we'll have to wait closer to the time before getting too excited. Earlier next week the weather for the South Island isn't shaping up too badly, with just a few showers and some high-level snow expected on Tuesday, July 16th, when a weak front rolls through.
Thanks for reading. I'll keep these forecasts coming every Monday, Wednesday & Friday throughout the southern hemisphere season.
