So Close, Yet So Far

Summary

The blizzard raging in the Mid-Atlantic will miss New England entirely. Only a small chance of light accumulations exists for extreme southern resorts. Otherwise, things will be quiet precipitation-wise into next week, and temperatures will be on the warmer side of seasonable.

Short Range

A hundred miles or so. That's all it would take to completely change the forecast for our are over the weekend. Despite the general northward trend of the coastal storm that is dumping snow on the Mid-Atlantic as I write this, it simply won't come far enough north to bring any snow to New England. There is still a (very) slight chance that the very southern portions of the region see a coating to an inch or two. Otherwise, the only effects we'll see high clouds and some breezy conditions as the storm deepens well offshore.

Long Range

As far as any snowfall goes, there's not much to talk about in the long range. There is something showing up in the forecasting models for around the middle of next week, but it doesn't look like anything major at this point and even could end up being wet precipitin at some resorts due to a general storm track to our west. Otherwise, expect generally seasonable to just above seasonable temperatures into next week.
