New Snow and clearing for the week

Summary

A robust weather front moved through overnight, with new snow and a snow level dropping to between 2500 and 3000 ft. The low snow levels mean new snow on the lower ski slopes, just where we need it. This Monday morning we are seeing 4-11" of new snow in the Cascades.

Short Term Forecast

There will be continuing snow showers today, but amounts will be low. The snow levels will remain low. for the week. Most of the snow today will focus on the Central Cascades with an additional 1”. Expect snow to end later tonight into Tuesday, with high pressure moving in, producing partial clearing on Tuesday. A new storm early Wednesday will mean more snowfall in the Cascades.

Extended Forecast

By early Wednesday a new system will move in from the northwest. This direction will keep the snow level low (2500-3000ft). Twenty-four hour snowfall will favor the Central Cascades. The Washington Cascades will pick up 2-6".

After snow tapers off on Thursday, expect a good ski day, with the recent new snow. There is a chance of a modest to heavy new snow over the weekend, as new storms hit the NW.
