Short Term Forecast
Forecast for Friday 6/16 - Sunday 6/18
Things have finally calmed down after a stormy week, with warm and dry conditions this weekend. The storm cycle finished cold with solid totals across the South American ski resorts.
Forecast for Monday 6/19 - Wednesday 6/21
A few weak storms will impact the region for the first part of the week. These small systems will slide through northern Chile and Argentina, brings mostly snow but also some rain showers. Amounts will be on the lighter side, with 5 cm to as much as 15 cms on the high end. Temperatures will be cool so expect mostly snow from these weak systems through Wednesday. You can see the first of these weak system in the north below.
Extended Forecast
Forecast for Thursday 6/22 - Monday 6/26
The end of next week looks a little bit interesting at this time. The next system may impact the Andes as early as Thursday, with multiple waves of snow possible through the end of the weekend. The models still feature a lot of disagreement on this period though, so I won't go into more details yet. I will have an update on the potential next weekend on Monday.
