First Southern Storm Underway

Summary

Active stretch is underway this (Monday) morning with snow across most of the central zone. The storms are lined up in the South Pacific and it will be snowing somewhere in the Andes for the next seven to ten days.

Short Term Forecast

Just a quick update today, as I’m away with family.

Friday’s forecast remains on track, with substantial snow en route to the central zone, especially the southern half. The current storm will be the best in this series for the northern half, and then track farther south moving forward.

Total accumulations in the southern part of the central zone could end up over a meter during this period. The heaviest snow is expected Monday and Tuesday but moderate snow will for much for the next week or more. The northern zone will be a bit too far north and shouldn’t see more than 10 cm overall unless we see a northern trend.

Snow forecast for the next seven days is below.

Extended Forecast

Pattern lookt to remain active with a continued southerly storm track.

Next update on Wednesday.

Thanks for reading the South America Daily Snow!
