Snow and wind on Tuesday morning

Summary

Intense snow has finally arrived on Tuesday morning, and it should last through Tuesday midday before decreasing to snow showers on Tuesday afternoon and evening.

Update

Monday & Monday Night

On Monday and Monday night, we saw a few snow showers with little accumulation, as well as gusty winds.

Tuesday

The cold front moved through at about 4 am and we've received about 1 inch of snow as of 5 am.

On Tuesday morning, I expect gusty winds and intense snow, which should last through Tuesday midday with maybe 4-8 inches of accumulation. Conditions should become softer and deeper through the morning, but this forecast is much lower than we were expecting for the days leading up to this storm, and I wrote more about the downward trend in the forecast in the latest Colorado Daily Snow.

Tuesday Night

We may see snow showers stick around after lifts close, though the airmass will rapidly cool with decreasing moisture, so I am skeptical that snow accumulations will be more than a dusting to an inch or two.

Wednesday

Wednesday will be sunny. Morning temperatures will be very cold, around 0°F, and then by midday, we'll warm into the teens to low 20s.

Thursday, Friday, Saturday

The sunny weather will continue on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday with high temperatures of around 30°F.

Longer Range

The next storm should bring snow from Sunday, March 3 to Monday, March 4, and over the coming days, we'll try to figure out how much snow and which day could have better powder. After that, we could see drier weather around Tuesday, March 5, and Wednesday, March 6, and then it's likely that snow will return sometime between Thursday, March 7, and Sunday, March 10.

My next update will be Wednesday morning.
