Update

The springtime yo-yo will continue at Steamboat. In the morning, temperatures will be cool enough to freeze the surface of the snow and create firm conditions, but by mid-morning and midday, temperatures will rise and will quickly soften the snow. On Wednesday and Thursday, the afternoon high temperature at the base was about 60F while readings topped out around 45F higher up on the hill. Expect similar weather from Friday through next Tuesday, and the warmest day of the bunch should be on Saturday.

The weather pattern will begin to change on Wednesday as more clouds move over Colorado, then we should see snow on Thursday, March 23rd, and a few flakes could continue to fall into Friday morning, March 24th. Following this storm, the afternoon of next Friday will be dry, as will next Saturday, March 25th. Then the next storm should arrive sometime on Sunday, March 26th, and chances for snow will continue through at least March 31st.

Enjoy the spring weather for the next 5-6 days, because winter will return during the final 8 days of March!
