Update

Following a few weeks of true spring weather with highs ranging from the 40s on the hill to the 60s at the base, storms are now lining up to bring snow to Steamboat during the next 10 days.

The first storm should bring more clouds on Thursday, with snow showers developing by Thursday afternoon and continuing through Friday morning. The track of this storm will likely be too far to the south to bring significant snow to Steamboat, but we should be able to grab at least 1-3 or 2-4 inches by Friday morning, so I hope that you’ll be able to find some soft snow to close out the week. I have low confidence in the exact snow forecast, so there is a chance that the storm will throw us a surprise and we get a little more than the forecast. Also, temperatures will cool overnight, so any rain drops at the base will likely change over to snow flakes by morning.

After this system, Friday afternoon through Saturday afternoon will be dry, then Storm #2 will bring another 1-3 or 2-4 inches of snow from Saturday evening through Sunday evening.

Looking ahead to next week, Storm #3 should bring another one or two days of snow early in the week, and then Storm #4 could bring snow later in the week. I’ll keep you posted!
