Steamboat Daily Snow

Heads up, there may be fresher snow! Read the latest Steamboat Daily Snow

Update

A weak cold front moved into the Steamboat area on Saturday afternoon, and this dropped temperatures into the teens from base-to-summit now on Sunday morning. Also, you'll notice low clouds shrouding the upper mountain in fog on Sunday morning. These clouds may stick around for most of Sunday, but I hope that they will lift just a bit and allow for better visibility on the upper mountain by midday or afternoon.

The forecast for Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday will be similar on all days with partly to mostly sunny skies, low temperatures in the teens (great for snowmaking) and high temperatures in the 30s, which is comfortable skiing weather.

Our next chance for natural snow will be on Thursday, December 21st when a storm drops into Colorado from the northwest. My early estimate for snowfall amounts is 2-4 inches, and this should provide soft turns during the day on Thursday.

After this storm, Friday will likely be dry, then an Arctic cold front will arrive on Saturday and this should bring very cold temperatures and also the chance for light snow accumulations on Saturday and perhaps next Sunday and Monday as well (December 24-25).

Thanks for reading and I'll keep you posted with daily updates!
