4-7 Feet of New Snow, Now What?...

Summary

Sunny today with highs in the 20's on the mountains and 30's at lake level. As high pressure builds in this week we will continue to warm into the 30's for all elevations Monday, and then 40's Tuesday into Wednesday. A weakening storm tries to push in Thursday into Friday. Snow levels start high Wednesday night around 8000 feet and fall to 7000 feet Thursday, then to near lake level Thursday night. The amount of precip looks so light that we may only see a few inches of snow on the mountains at best through Friday, and mainly West of the lake along the crest. High pressure may build back in next weekend into the beginning of the week of the 12th. Then by the 14th a large trough may settle over the West Coast into the 3rd week of March. That could bring back the cold and stormy weather.
