Saturday in the House...
Summary
- Mostly sunny skies expected for Saturday into at least Sunday morning, but Isolated snow showers could pop up over the mountains in the afternoon. Highs in the 30s on the upper mountains & 40s at lake level. Lighter winds. - The system off the CA coast moves inland by Sunday afternoon/evening. That will bring a return of snow showers to the mountains into Monday. Snow levels may start around 7000-7500 ft. and fall to lake level Sunday night. We could see a coating up to 2 inches of snow at lake level, and 1-4 inches on the mountains. Highs cooling into the 30s. Ridgetop winds increasing to 60+ mph Monday. - Another system drops down the coast Monday night into Wednesday, continuing snowfall for the Sierra. This system should bring colder air and falling snow levels along with continued gusty winds. We could see an additional 2-10 inches at lake level and 4-13 inches on the mountains. Highs in the 20s on the upper mountains & 30s at lake level. Ridgetop winds could gust from the southwest up to 40+ mph. - We could see a few snow showers linger into Thursday, but we are expecting clearing skies and a drier pattern Thursday into the weekend of the 28th.
