Summer Has Finally Arrived!...

Update

Wednesday - Sunday:

We are expecting mostly sunny skies Wednesday through the weekend. The forecast models show a strong ridge of high-pressure building in over CA. That will bring a quick warm-up with highs into the 60s on the mountains and 70s at lake level, maybe even 80 degrees by Sunday!

Early Next Week:

We may see a brief cool down early next week into the 60s as a storm moves through to our north. The winds don't look that strong and should remain fairly light even over the ridges.

Long-Range:

As we go through mid-month it looks like high pressure will remain anchored over the West Coast. This is likely the fat lady singing as the snow season is likely over. Highs are expected to warm back into the 70s through mid-month with mostly sunny skies.

This will get good for everyone to get out in their yards to absorb some vitamin D. We will start to see some good run-off as the snowpack begins to melt. Hopefully, there is still plenty left to go hiking to waterfalls once we are able to go out and about again.

This will likely be my last post of the season with the storms ending. I'll be posting once a week through the Summer and if any last-minute storms pop-up. Looking forward to hopefully a snowier, healthier, and full ski season for the 20-21 season!

Stay tuned, stay healthy, stay kind...BA

P.S. April fools! A cold, windy and snowy weekend ahead, here is your updated snowfall forecast for the weekend...

As my friend Tom reminded me this morning, at least the high winds won't be affecting upper mountain lift operations. More tomorrow...BA
