Snows and Floods...

Summary

Snow continues today and into tonight. Highs in the 30's with strong winds on the mountain tops. The snow tapers off Thursday morning. An additional 10-20 inches at lake level possible, and 17-34 inches on the mountains by Thursday morning. We will clear out Thursday into Friday with a break in the storms. Colder air moves in with highs only in the 20's. Winds will become strong again Friday ahead of the next storm. Saturday we initially start as all snow as a strong storm moves in. Snow levels quickly rise to 7000 feet during the morning and then 8000 feet during the afternoon. Heavy rain and snow continue through Monday. Snow levels rise to 9000 feet Saturday night. They may peak around 9500 feet Sunday morning. Sunday night snow levels fall to 8000 feet, and then to lake level Monday morning. We will see accumulating snows to lake level at the beginning and the end with rain in between. The window of rain shrinks the higher you go. This makes snowfall forecasts tricky, but we could still see feet of snow on the mountains between what falls at the start and finish. Another storm could move in Tuesday - Wednesday next week, and then again Thursday - Friday.
