Watching the weekend storm

Summary

Thursday and Friday will be dry, and then our best chance for snow will range from Friday night through Sunday morning.

Update

We have about 22% of trails open, and more trails are scheduled to open today (Thursday, December 21) and next week.

Weatherwise, we saw a few flakes on Wednesday night and measured a coating to an inch of new snow.

Coming up Thursday and Friday, expect dry weather, high temperatures in the 30s, and some clouds around each day.

The next storm will deliver snow starting on Friday night, and by Saturday morning, we could see anything from a few inches up to 10 inches – there will be a lot of moisture around, which can lead to higher snow totals, and it just depends on the exact track of this moisture and storm energy as to whether we will see a few hours of intense snow or if this snow will just miss us.

On Saturday, we should see more rounds of snow showers with a few inches of accumulations, and snow showers will likely perhaps on Saturday night and then wane Sunday

Temperatures on Saturday will be in the 20s and highs on Sunday will be in the teens.

The softest/deepest snow should be on Saturday morning due to the new flakes on Friday night, and we should see soft snow conditions continue throughout the day on Saturday and maybe into Sunday morning as well.

After this storm, we will likely see drier weather with low chances for snow during the December 25-31 time frame, and then I continue to see somewhat higher chances of snow during the first few days of January, but that's still 10+ days away, so the forecast will change, and let's just hope for the best.
