The storm delivered, with more snow coming up

Summary

On Wednesday night the storm delivered 6 inches of snow. On Thursday, we'll enjoy the new snow from Wednesday night, and we'll look ahead to more snow on Friday and Saturday.

Update

I apologize for my late update on Thursday morning. I am traveling and unexpectedly did not have internet connectivity during a window of time when I thought that I would have it.

Wednesday Night

While the storm brought deeper snow to areas east of the continental divide, the mid-mountain snow sensor picked up a (very) respectable 6 inches as of Thursday at 500 am.

Thursday to Saturday

The storm will stall to our southwest and will stay in that position on Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and likely through Sunday as well. As the storm rotates, it will push times of intense snow into Colorado's southern mountains, as we could pick up another 8-16+ inches during these 72 hours. I have low confidence in the timing of the most intense snow, though there is a decent chance that Friday and Saturday could offer powder at various times. The high temperatures will range from the upper teens to mid-20s.

Sunday to Wednesday

From Friday through Wednesday, the current storm will stall well to our southwest and the weather will be mostly dry with high temperatures in the 30s. If pieces of storm energy rotate into Colorado, we may see more clouds and a few snow showers at any time.

Thursday, March 21 through the end of March

During the final 10 days of March, we should flip from drier weather to stormier weather. While it will likely not snow every day from March 21-31, all of the longer-range forecast data suggests that multiple storms will bring snow to Colorado during this 10-day window. I will provide more forecast details when the data aligns, but for now, there is no alignment about the timing or the strength of these storms, so we'll have to wait a little longer to figure it out.

My next update will be Friday morning.
