Saturday

Friday's storm delivered just a few flakes during the day, and then skies cleared at night and allowed the nearly full moon to illuminate the landscape.

Saturday will be partly to mostly sunny and dry with a high temperature of around 30°F.

Also for Saturday:

  • Lifts 12 & 14 to the public on Saturday 12/14 for a “Preview” through Monday end of the day!

  • There will be limited access to lift-served terrain on Lift 12 (no Hike-Tos), and only See Forever will be open off Lift 14. There will be no beginner egress out of the bowl so all guests will have to ride up Lift 14 and ski See Forever.

  • Please remember that these are early-season conditions! All trail openings and closures will be at the discretion of Ski Patrol. There may be some trails open on Saturday that may close Sunday or Monday. After Monday, a decision will be made as to the future of Prospect Bowl.

Sunday

Sunday will be dry and partly sunny as a storm tracks to the north. The temperature will be a bit colder with a high of around 20°F.

Monday

Monday will be mostly sunny and warmer with a high of around 35°F.

Tuesday

Another weak storm may bring clouds and a few snow showers, though I expect no accumulation. The temperature will cool a bit and top out around 30°F.

Wednesday, December 18 - Monday, December 23

For the six days from Wednesday to the following Monday, we'll likely see dry weather with temperatures in the mid-20s to mid-30s.

December 24 and beyond…

The latest longer-range forecast models now show a higher chance for some snow from December 24-31. It's too soon to figure out the details, but at least the odds are increasing for snow at the end of the month.

And then in early January, the longest-range forecasts continue to show a higher chance for colder and stormier weather.

For now, we have a solid base thanks to snowfall in late November, and the low sun angle of December will continue to preserve our snowpack, so we're in an okay spot to make it through the next 10 days before (hopefully) more significant snow arrives.
