Tuesday
Tuesday's weather will be partly sunny with a high in the mid-30s. There was a storm that moved through Colorado on Monday night, but as expected, the light snow from this storm stayed to the north of Telluride.
Wednesday
On Wednesday, a storm will track over southern Colorado. This is a reasonably good track for Telluride, so there should be 3-5 inches of new snow during the day with a high temperature in the low-to-mid 20s.
Then on Wednesday evening, the snow should wind down, though there could be a few lingering showers.
Thursday
Thursday may start with softer turns from the snow that fell on Wednesday. Otherwise, Thursday should be mostly dry with partly sunny skies and a high temperature in the upper 20s.
Thursday Night & Friday
A fast-moving storm will deliver snow on Thursday night, with 2-4 inches possible from Thursday night through Friday morning. The conditions on Friday morning should be pretty soft, and we may see a break in the snowfall on Friday with a high temperature in the low 20s.
Friday Night & Saturday
Another fast-moving storm will deliver additional snow on Friday night. This storm should be stronger than the system on Thursday night, so more snow is possible with 3-5 inches of accumulation. Keep an eye on this storm as it might produce enough snow for powder on Saturday morning. Also, the latest forecast data shows that snow could continue throughout at least the first half of Saturday, so more signs are pointing toward Saturday as a potential powder day.
Longer Range
I think Sunday, December 29 will be dry, and then the next storm should bring snow from Sunday night through Monday night, though this storm might track mostly north of Telluride.
After that, a stormy weather pattern may occur sometime between January 2-8, so there is additional 'hope' in the long term.
