Monday

Monday will be mostly cloudy though any snowflakes should stay north of the mountain.

Due to the cloud cover that arrived on Sunday night, the morning temperature at the base is warmer compared to the previous few days, and the afternoon high temperature will be cooler and stay in the low 30s.

Monday Night

On Monday night, the jet stream should create a narrow band of moderate to intense snow, though this will again stay north of Telluride.

Tuesday

Tuesday will be partly sunny with a high in the low 30s.

Wednesday

On Wednesday, a storm will track over southern Colorado. This is a reasonably good track for Telluride, so there should be 3-5 inches of new snow during the day with a high temperature in the low-to-mid 20s.

Then on Wednesday evening, the snow should wind down, though there could be a few lingering showers.

Thursday

Thursday may start with softer turns if there is snow on Wednesday night, otherwise, Thursday should be mostly dry with mostly cloudy skies, perhaps a few snow showers, and a high temperature in the mid-20s.

Thursday Night & Friday

A fast-moving storm will deliver a shot of snow on Thursday night. While most of the snow will stay north of Telluride, the mountain may pick up a coating to 2 inches if the storm tracks a little farther to the south. With snow on Thursday night, the conditions on Friday morning could be somewhat soft, and we may see a break in the snowfall on Friday with a high temperature in the low 20s.

Friday Night & Saturday

Another fast-moving storm will deliver additional snow on Friday night. This storm should be stronger and track farther south compared to the system on Thursday night, so more snow is possible with 1-4 inches of accumulation.

Longer Range

I think a lot of the weekend (December 28-29) will be dry, and then the next storm around Monday-Tuesday (December 30-31) may stay to the northern of Telluride, with additional storms during the first 5-10 days of January which may track closer to or over the mountain.

I will continue to dial in the details of the upcoming snowfall, so stay tuned.
